Transparent Pumpkin Pie

In # 2: Molecular Gastronomy by AlexLeave a Comment

I first came across a YouTube tutorial for making transparent pumpkin pie in 2018. The idea was fascinating, but I still have yet to try it. Since it is the season of all things pumpkin spice, I decided it was a good recipe to share this season.

It is a surprisingly easy process to make a clear pumpkin pie. It is simply a distillation of well-known pumpkin pie ingredients, re-solidified with gelatin. It is served in a traditional pie crust and is recommended to be served with whipped cream. Its taste is reportedly identical to that of normal pumpkin pie, but the texture can be somewhat off-putting. So, if you were looking to make a holiday dish to both dazzle and baffle your family, this could be it.
