Fritos Corn Chips were one food item that I discovered claimed to have a “Bioengineered” label. They do not identify their products for consumers even though they contain corn or corn ingredients developed from genetically modified organisms. This is dangerous since it might affect the user’s health in ways like allergenicity. Furthermore, suppose customers are aware that the products are being mislabeled. In that case, they can believe that they are acting with ulterior intentions and lose trust in the long term, which can result in a massive decrease in revenue in general.
